Hi there. What is so peremptorily about Windows against Unix based operating systems? It is obvious that you can find windows almost everywhere, female population is using this operating system more than anybody else, including children. Well, I wonder is this operating system really popular that much with reason, or there is some other trick involved. The truth is that I am typing this within Windows, but that's because I have some licensed software from company for which I work for.

Hello. Unix is not that much popular as Windows is because it is not meant to be in first place. Unix is server oriented, the Windows is too, but Unix/Linux is much more smarter when resource consumption is all about. More reliable as such because it does not depends on GUI. Windows does. The most important fact regarding this is DirectX multimedia subsystem. There are no that much popular gaming titles inside Unix. Will never be.
