| We have a network with seven computers at our workplace. At last few months, I had the filling that our network works rapidly slower then earlier. It was just after I installed Bluetooth connection for laptop and a cell phone. At first, I thought that I am just imaging it. However, yesterday I installed software for measuring network performance and I found out that our 100Mbps switch works at 10Mbps. What is wrong? I think bluetooth is a great little gadget and I don't want to uninstall it. |

| I do not think that your Bluetooth connection has anything to do with your problem with reduced speed, therefore, you do not need to uninstall it. I think it's just the coincidence. From your story, I understand that you have 10/100Mbps network cards in all computers in the network. If you are not certain then be sure to check that immediately before anything else. Also, check that maybe somebody did not reduce the speed of its 10/100Mbps network adapter to work at lower rate. You have a switch as you say, and most switches nowadays have auto sense option. That means that if only one computer in the network has lower connection speed, switch automatically reduce the speed of all the other computers in the network to that speed. Otherwise, you will all have to set your card to 10Mbps if you want that your network work correctly. |
