How much RAM does XP takes when its up? I am trying to decide whether it is better for me to use XP or switch to Vista. I have 1 GB Ram memory, and my Windows XP is functioning just great. Does anyone know something more about these things? I am really confused, and I do not know how to decide

Hello there. I don’t think you should switch to Vista with just 1 GB Ram memory. I mean, it will function, but everything will be much slower than you are used to. The RAM memory you have is just enough, and even more than enough for Windows XP.I think that I used to run it on 256 mb of ram memory, and it used to function well  But, Vista is much more demanding. I think that it would eat your entire RAM, and that your programs would have difficulties functioning. Anyway, if you want to switch to Vista, double your RAM; that is my advice.
