Hello people. I have found one very old CD with a lot of excel files on it. All of them were made by me. I can’t edit them now. I have copied all contents of the CD to the hard drive and they seem to be read only. Excel does not allow me to edit them in any way, and I was never implementing any kind of protection inside my documents. Where is the cache? Thanks in advance.

Hi. Well, I think that the trick is inside the CD medium you were using. Because the normal CD cannot be written after the burning. Therefore, the program for burning you were using, maybe performed automatic file attribute conversion. Nero has that feature. So, you can right-click on the .xls file and simply remove the read only marked box. It is down below.
