How important are RAM increases for general performance improvements? I mean, if I have a gig of Kingston RAM (which I do), and decide to go out and buy another gig (which I sort of already did), how much of a difference will it make? Also, I heard somewhere that Vista needs to be reinstalled each time you add RAM, is that true?

Depends. If you have a specific performance issue, you might want to share it so we'd be able to tell you whether more RAM will help or not. But speaking generally, more RAM is always a good thing, even if you don't notice the result immediately.

Quite simply, utter bollocks.
