I am thinking about switching for dial up to cable Internet. I have heard it is better and that it has many advantages. Now, I am not quite sure about technology. Shall I buy a new cable modem? Is it different than a dial up modem, or I can use the same one? I am sorry if these questions seem trivial to you, but I am a beginner.

Well, these are really questions only a beginner would ask. But do not worry, we were all there once Smile The cable modem and dial up modem are completely different. As you can probably conclude by its name –you connect dial up modem to a telephone line, and a cable modem to the cable Smile The speed you get by using them is quite different to, and my opinion cable internet is the best kind, even better than DSL internet. And about buying...I am not sure how that function in the county you are living in. I live in Serbia, and here we do not have to buy it, just rent it in a way.
