I am a freshman in computer waters. I got one for my birthday three months ago. However, it interested me very much. I also read in the papers that computer knowledge can gives you steady and rather big income. Therefore, what computer programming should I learn? Is Java right option in Windows?

You are right about computer knowledge. It is payable and you should rather easily find the job. However, IT area is great and you should pick an exact area that you can handle. Computer programming is the most complex area in IT waters. No matter which course you will attend, you should need some strong precognition. Anyway, in the last period three directions of computer programming are developing. First and oldest is database programming. That is still the most used programming today. However, next two programming directions will probably get that title from it. Second is every kind of Internet programming. The last but not the least, is programming for mobile phones and mobile computers like Ipods. If you success in handling any of those three programming directions you would most certainly have great benefit from that. Java programming is much more used for programming for mobile phones and mobile computers, then for Windows.
