Hello. I have installed this WD 250GB hard drive and in total, after I did some little math, there was only 232 gigabytes allocated and formatted in two partitions. Where is the rest of the hard drive space? 18 gigabytes, when I think a little bit more, that's the size almost twice as big as my first hard drive on old PII. Really, why does XP sees only this much? Thanks in advance.

You can place around 20 DivX movies on 18 gigs. Indeed a lot. However, if you right click on the partition and select properties, you will see the used space, free space and total capacity. And everything is measured in bytes and gigabytes as well. You can see that there is difference. That's because one KB has 1024 bytes and one mb has 1024 kb and so on and on.... The default M$ cluster size politics speaks so.
