Hello. I have bought new surround speakers for my kid, but, it seems that rear port on motherboard is not working correctly. I told this to my maintenance guy, and he said that it is practically impossible to fix. And if someone can do that, it won't be cheap he said. I have no more rights to replace the motherboard for the newer model, so there is no other option for me but to get new PCI sound card. Which one that would be? Thanks in advance.

Your maintenance guy is right about fixing integrated rear-port jack hole. You need 5.1 sound probably because of games and some DVD's occasionally, am I right? The most wisest choice would be SB Live sound card. The card is offering EAX features (very important for gaiming satisfaction) and it is quite affordable. Around 25 euros if I am not wrong. At least it was that much. Great product from Creative Labs.
