I am a newbie when it comes to networking and I would really like to learn more about these things.I came across the term subnetting , and subnetting range, and I find those concepts really difficult to understand. So,I would find it very useful if someone could explain it briefly . I will really appreciate your effort

I am not sure if I will be able to explain it to you, because I am just a beginner myself, but I will try. This is a very complex area, and it is not very possible that you will get your answer here, all of the sudden, plain and simple. In order to understand these concepts, you will have to know the basics of the networking, so it cannot be described in words other than technical. Subnetting is in fact a range of local addresses within the address space which are assigned to computers in a network. All the computers have the same network ID, but different subnet ID
