It is so obvious that Intel became the one and only leader on the CPU market. I am speaking of this because CPU mode called 80286 is being developed by Intel. In this mode CPU's were able to cover 16 mb of ram memory and first microprocessor was PC 286 as I can remember. Now after so many years of research and further development, there are plenty of similar CPU modes. Well, what is similar to 80286? Thanks in advance.

Just as you said, CPU modes similar to 80286 architecture are way too in front of the older X86 architecture. Most actual today are IA-64 or EMT64. 64-bit architecture. However, common features are still present, such as kernel-mode and user-mode instructions. They differ in the privilege of instructions given to the CPU. Much more info about CPU architecture is already given on the Wiki, in short terms, it is difficult to explain this with couple of examples.
