Hello. I have problem with my USB 2.0 enclosure and the sound that is coming out from it. After just three months of usage, I can hear some sort of very unpleasant sound coming out of the plastic. I really don’t know is this hard drive or enclosure it self, but I am willing to find out. The hard drive is by the way, working quite ok. Thanks on any advice.

Hello. I think that hard drive is not producing such a sound, because hard drives are very silent, and that’s the only proper way for a HDD to operate, without a sound. The noise that comes out of your enclosure is because a dusty fan. It is not hard to clean it up. Just take WD40 spray and in less than 15 minutes, it will be like new.
