| I have downloaded few movies, in some weird format, that I first heard of when I started using Emule. Those are MKV files, and when I try to play them in the regular players, they are simply not working. I have tried MV2Player, BSplayer, WMP and some other more…Nothing changes. Any ideas? shall I download some codec, player or something? Many thanks for your hints in advance |

| Well, you should download a special codec for this file, but in order to just open it up. An MKV file is what they call Matroska file, some kind of open source container, a kind of alternative for AVI files. It is very common nowadays, but requires a special codec – Matroska pack. You want get this one by installing codec packs There is also another, and maybe even better solution. There is a player called VLC Player, that opens any kind of video files, including those damaged ones.It also opens MKV files, so this is the best solution. The player is not demanding at all and is very useful indeed. |
