After the incident I had last month with a virus that almost completely destroyed all my data from the system partition, I decided to be ore careful with anti-virus software and firewall. I’m thinking about installing a good AV program and turning that Windows firewall on, but I don’t know whether it is recommendable to use firewall together with AV software.

To be honest, I have turned firewall off because I don’t really think that it is necessary if you have a good anti-virus program. But if you’re very cautious and if you’re worried that you’re too exposed to the internet threats, maybe it would b a good idea for you to turn it on and se it alongside the antivirus software. Just make sure to open se ports so that certain programs can be updated and if you use P2P programs you also need to open the ports s that the traffic between the internet and your PC is not blocked. I don’t think that using both AV software and firewall can cause an problem but you have to adjust everything well.
