My Windows XP installation was full of viruses so it was impossible to clean up. So I decided to reinstall windows. Everything works Ok now, I set up programs too, but… No sound yet, and it showed up in device manager as CMI sound or something… I downloaded the drivers CMI for XP, but it seems that the drivers aren’t complete – still I have no sound.
It looks like you’ve put the drivers for CMI PCI card, while you have most likely an onboard CMI sound. Check your motherboard make and model number, google for it’s official site and download sound drivers from there. Or, just go to CMI and download drivers for internal chip, not PCI.
