Hi there. I suppose that there are probably a lot of failures inside factory it self, when the word is about testing the products from the track. Not all the sensors are produced well in the first attempt I can bet. Then, if someone could explain to me what actually causes the sensor obstacles, I would be very grateful. Thanks in advance.

When you buy new camcorder or digital camera, you are about to see everything clearly. Afterwards, the dust. During usage time, the dust and dirt are the factors with the most higher level of influence. So, keep it clean. I truly believe that sensors are disposed to some minor dust impacts "on the track" as you said, occasionally. And those lens, sensors with the minor damage, meant to capture higher resolutions with 5 megapixels, are degraded, factory lock, just as some graphic card manufacturers are doing I believe, and sold as weaker models.
