Hello. I have just bought a new HDD drive for my computer and I want to install the drive by my self. Now is there some certain operation that is necessary to be done before the drive is going to be used? I am just about to store my files on it, I dont want to install anything on the drive. What is required to perform the correct operation over the drive before first use? Thanks in advance.

There are no advanced operations needed for the new hard drive except formatting. When you connect the drive to the motherboard with the data and the power cord cables, after first boot with the new hardware, windows will detect the hard drive and in a few seconds it will be operational. After that, open the Disk Management (right click on My Computer inside the start menu and select manage), and youll see new drive without any drive letter. First create new logical drive than create a partition and perform normal standard slow format for the first time. Thats it. No additional knowledge required. If you know how to install the games, than this is going to be easy for you.
