XP welcome screen messed up

Hello! I am running Windows XP Professional operating system with Service Pack 2 installed. I have problem with P welcome screen. This screen is messed up totally. When I boot XP it just hangs on welcome screen more then 20-30 minutes and after that it boots normally. Have you any idea what is wrong here? Will I need to reinstall XP? Thank you!

Hello! I think that I know what is going on here. I assume that you have many files on your computer, tight? And, like everybody else, you have antivirus program. Well, I think that your antivirus software is set to scan your computer on boot up. So, next time when you boot your Windows XP access antivirus settings and disable this option.
