Hello. I think that my friend has bought malfunctioned graphic card. All I can see is real apple big icons on his screen, without any other system message about new hardware found or similar. The current resolution is set to 800*600 pixels and frame rate (trough explorer) is just poor. Is this due to some of his graphic subsystem drivers or something else? The card is XFX 7600GT. Thanks in advance.

Hello. According to your story, there are three possible reasons for that. First: That XFX specimen is buggy, or flashed once already. Return the card to the store. Second: There is not enough power supply for the card, so the system won't even bother trying. Less possible, but possible. Third: There is a tweak for XP to keep the system quiet when new hardware is plugged. It is inside group policy editor I think. Good Luck. Oh, and at least 450W is needed.
