Word 2000 Error

Hello. When I am searching for files through Word 2000 Open dialog box I receive very strange error. It says:” Some of the files that meet the search criteria maybe missing from the list. IO error 82”. When I click OK and try to open file then another notification shows: “The file is locked for editing by another user”. I am rally puzzled because I am the only one user on this computer and computer is not networked. Can you give me some hints about this problem?

This Word 2000 error occurs when Temp folder is corrupted. You will need to recreate Temp folder in order to solve this problem. Reboot computer in safe mode and go to C:\Windows (if windows installation is on C partition) and find Temp folder. Right click on it and rename it to something like Old_Temp. Then create new folder here and name it Temp. Restart computer and enter Windows normally. Everything should work fine now.
