I have recently installed Windows Vista on an older hard disk. However, as I have bought new hard disk, and a lot better, I wanted to run Vista on it. However, the only solution I could think of was to install it again on that other disk. When I wanted to remove the previous one, I have seen some help instructions that involved boot manager. After the removal process, the second Vista did not want to boot without system disk. What could be the problem?

As you probably know, boot manager is now pretty different than it was on the XP. It is a bit more complex, so going into the details would be too complicated and unnecessary. What you did, was the process of removal that is new in Vista. However, if not done carefully, it may lead to such problems as your own. What happened was that the first Vista had boot information written on it, and these information were not removed with your Vista. On the other hand, being the primary system, installed first, such a situation resulted in your new Vista not having the same files and instructions. That is why you need to put in the disk, which has these instructions. Since no kind of copying these files from your older disk (which would involve enabling the control over very sensitive data, too) would do, you will have to format both your disks, and install a fresh copy of Windows on the disk you desire. Best of luck. You can see more about boot manager at http://technet2.microsoft.com/WindowsVista/en/
