| Which browsers use the Gecko engine? I have just recently heard about these so called layouts, Trident and Gecko, and now I am trying to figure out myself what is the difference between the applications based on Gecko and Trident. So, can somebody please tell me which programs are based on which engines? Many thanks for any info you give me. Many thanks |

| Well, the best known browser that uses Gecko is Mozilla. Every application Mozilla develops is based on Gecko… It is as you said most often used in web browsers, such as Netscape, Firefox, Sea Monkey, Flock, Songbird, K-Melon, Epiphany etc .It is used in Windows, as well as in other operative systems. … It supports open internet standards and is free to use.It is what is called open source layout engine. It is second most used layout on the net, after Trident which is used for IE (after version 4). So, I hope you now know where to look for differences, but it would be easier if you would read some material on the net. |
