Hello people! My friend insists on the fact that UNIX based systems have a high level of security and reliability. Is that true? I mean, let’s take Linux for example. How can a free operative system be better and more reliable than Windows which costs a considerable amount of money? Yes, in my book, you have to pay for everything.
Well, this time you’re not right. I don’t use Linux but I have heard that German government’s web site is on Linux because it is considered to be more reliable. It is mainly due to the fact that all known viruses and Trojans are developed for Windows making this operative system quite vulnerable. Still, many people think that Linux is very complicated and what prevents me from using it is the fact that I don’t know whether the programs that I’m using are available for Linux. I think that this platform really offers reliability and a higher level of security than Windows. Correct me if I’m wrong, but there are both free and commercial versions of Linux.
