Hello. Each time I try to connect external hard drive. The detection icon appears and seems like it is checking the drive, indexing in the background, whatever, then all of the sudden boom. No mouse movements, no nothing. The problem drive is Simpletech 320GB. I am looking forward to read some advices. Thanks in advance.

Hi. I have one friend with his 8 gigabyte flash drive. And every time he brings his pen drive and connects it to my PC, the Anvtivirus software is alarming. I am using Nod32 and infected usb drive doesn't cause my system to freeze. However, this may be the cause for your situation. Check your computer and then external drive for viruses. One more thing, are you sure that your PSU has enough power? Insufficient power will freeze the system, that's confirmed.
