DHCP is a short for Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol. It is a protocol which enables user to obtain and IP address automatically. It gives IP addresses to device, and then releases it or renew it as the device leaves or comes back to the internet. It is most often used by internet providers so that they can add new users to the network with minimum effort and manual configuration. You just need a device which supports with a DHCP and which will gather all the needed information from the DHCP server. I think it is all you need to know about it at some primary level.
