Help, please! I I am trying to set up a wired LAN out of my two PCs - a desktop PC with Windows XP installed and a new laptop – HP Compaq 6720s. I am just a novice, so I thought it would be much better to ask you guys before I start doing anything.Do you have any tips, anything I should know?

Well, here is the thing. If you have Vista installed on your laptop you won’t be having any problems. But, if you have Windows XP installed on laptop too, you may experience difficulties. I know it because it happened to me. I bought it without any operative system installed , and I decided to put XP instead of Vista. The installation went well, but later on I found out, that if I want my network adapter to function, I need to flash my BIOS, and then install newest drivers. Of course, I came to this conclusion after spending hours in trying to make the network function.
