| When I was buying my computer, the components and peripherals were top rated and not cheap at all. Now, I can sell the whole thing for 200$, no more than that. I have ASUS P4P800 motherboard and one big problem. Fresh Hard Drive with 300 GB. Serial-ata interface. BIOS won't recognize the drive. I can't format the drive, windows cannot detect the drive, too. But, when I touch it with my fingers while system is on, I can feel the heat and something is going on inside. This is telling me that the drive is correct and operational. Any workout on this? Thanks in advance. |

| If BIOS can't detect the hard drive, and you are sure that you have everything else functional, than either hard drive firmware or motherboard BIOS update awaits you. For the latest firmware releases, you can try with Google or to contact Maxtor directly (WD caviar, now). For the latest BIOS update, you should download and install ASUS update setup utility. It is an automated and very easy update process with the program. So,what are you waiting for? |
