Hello everyone! Recently, I lost my old job. I decided to change my profession. For my whole life, I have been interested in computers. I also finished few IT courses couple of years ago. Now, I got a job as computer technician in a local department of a big multinational company. It sounds great but now I have one question. Is it possible to share wireless connection over a small wired LAN? Any explanation is appreciated. Thank you.

Hi! Of course it’s possible. What you need to check is your wrt54 is in client mode and talk in to the other Access Point. Then plug your main computer into one of the ports. Ensure that the wtr4 has DHCP enabled or you are using a static address on your main machine and wtr4 that is in the same subnet, example is all on 192.168.1.x.

Most straight forward would possibly be to get another wireless card for the other PC and have it connect directly to the router itself. That way, the "main" PC with the ICS doesn't need to be on then. If you are a more advanced user you may prefer to set up file permissions. These are sharing rules that can be set for each folder that use the system of Windows usernames and passwords (if you don't type in a password when you switch on.

Hi! I will try to help you as much as I can. IP addresses for all your computers need to be on the same structure. For example, you have several computers on a network then the IP address need to be the same except for the last digits. One more example: computer1- 192.168.1.101, computer2 - 192.168.1.102 etc. I guess this is going to help you a little bit.
