I am a newbie in computer waters. I was reading a lot of computer magazines, lately, and I got interested. Last week, I decided to buy my own computer. So I did. However, now I discovered that I have to learn more if I want to handle this machine. For instance, I have a problem with setting a macro for Excel.

If you are a 'newbie' as you say, do not worry. Computers are great machines but they have their rules. You will have to learn and implement those rules if you want to avoid problems. Just take one step at a time. I was also a beginner once, and I bet that I was much worse then you will ever be. Now, computers are my profession and my source for living. Find yourself few good courses for computer using and you will be OK. There are many good courses for using Microsoft Office package. It would be even better if you could find some friend or neighbor to assist you in overcoming some 'child decease' in starting of using computers. That way, you will also, beside time, save yourself a lot of money for computer services. Now let us get back to your problem with setting a macro for Excel. You can do that in the Macro section of the Tools menu. Pay attention to the security level settings.
