I got a new computer last month as a present from my parents. They also installed me DSL Internet connection. Few of my neighbors and I bought Belkin router to share that Internet connection. Another friend installed me Torrent software for movie downloading. At the beginning, everything worked fine. Since yesterday, we cannot connect to Internet. How to overcome routing trouble with Belkin router. Do I need a software firewall too?

I do not think that you have a problem with your Belkin router. I am certain that your operating system is infected with some sort of Downloader or Trojan virus. Its job is to aloud access to hard drive content on your computer to its owner. Those types of viruses are common on the Internet. I also had to reinstall my Windows XP twice because of torrent using. That was at the beginning. However, from my personal experience I found out what to use for protection. The protection that I have been using for last six months is combination of AVG and Seagate firewall and I do not have any problems. Use AVG to clean all viruses from your computer and then, install Seagate Personal firewall. I think you will be safe enough after that.
