Router with firewall better solution?

| Hello. There is such a big rush about new Wifi router between me and my brother. I am thinking to make a bet with him, because I claim that there is much better protection for the PC if hardware firewall is implemented inside the router, no matter if the price is not the same for router only. He claims that we should stick to the old school, with Zone Alarm Pro, and I hate that program as any other firewall, I don’t know why. Well, who is right and who is wrong? Thanks in advance. |

| Both of you are right. It is always good to save some money if you got the substitute. On the other hand, PC should work drastically faster without additional software such as Zone Alarm is. And routers with firewall inside are much, much more resistant on any kind of intrusion. Only windows firewall and antivirus is actually needed with Router + Firewall, for the decent protection level…. Well, why don’t you make some bet? |
