| How do I know if my wireless connection over my router is encrypted or not? And if it is, how do I know which method is used to protect it. I have a wireless network for moths, and this is actually first time it did cross my mind that it may be unsecure. So,any ideas, any hints? Many thanks |

| Well, it is high time you do something about your protection. The truth is, nowadays, wherever you turn your wi fi device on, you will come across a wireless network. If not secured, you make sure your encryption is activated. When you turn your wi fi device on, you will see your wireless network, as many other networks that are in your range. So , if the connection is encrypted you will see a pad lock, and right next to it, a method of protection. Now, if there is no pad lock, you have a serious problem which means your data is not protected. And if you have a pad lock, you need to check if you are using WEP or WPA 2 method (the second one is better) |
