I’m trying to learn something more about routing and I’m confused at the very beginning. Namely, I don’t understand the difference between routed and routing protocols. Which of those protocols are better? Whenever I try to read something about this topic I can’t continue whenever I come across these two notions and I guess that I finally have to learn something about them in order to be able to go on.

Well, I think that I can also say that all this routing is pretty Greek to me but I have managed to understand a bit about routed versus routing protocols. I know that routing is actually the process by means of which data transfer is enabled in a network. This is done via so-called paths, that is, routes. It is used for both telephony and internet. Now, ‘routed protocols’ is a phrase which refers to the data which is being transferred. Routing protocols are the software which routers use in order to determine the best routes for the particular destination. I hope this doesn’t sound too complicated because it can’t be explained more simply since this is not a topic for complete noobs. I mean, we both have to learn a lot in order to be able to fully comprehend these things.
