I have been examining my System Properties a bit, and I have noticed that my hard disk and DVDR are in a Master – Slave relation. While my friend has his devices both masters. Is it better to have two masters or one master and one slave? Is there any difference in performance?

Hello! You shouldn’t worry about this. Though many people claim that it is better to have both IDE branches in use (both masters and none slave), I haven’t noticed that Master/slave configured IDE devices perform slower. If you are satisfied with your devices’ performance, you don’t need to change a thing.
