I have been using the internet for a whole last year and everything worked fine. However, until a month ago, I could not defend from all sorts of viruses. I reinstalled operating system on my computer once but it did not help me for a long. After a day or two on the Internet, I have the same problems again. Now I have Popup showing in browsers randomly and no AV detection. Are there any better browsers than Explorer?

Of course, there are other browsers beside the Explorer. Some of the most popular are Mozilla and MSN. Many users also claims that they are so much better and safer then the Explorer. I think they are not better then Explorer itself. I am also on the Internet almost 6 hours per day, every day, I am using Internet Explorer and I do not have any problems. Your problem with random popup has nothing to do with browser. By my experience, you need some anti-spyware software like SpyBot S&D, which is completely free. Second thing you need is some good anti-virus software which is also free. I personally use AVG and I am completely satisfied. If you have MS Win XP as your OS, you also have to check do you have SP2 installed. If don't then download and install it. All those things will not slow your machine much but will give you enough protection.
