| I think that when it comes to a static IP address, you can’ just decide to set your modem to a particular address wanting it to be static. You should contact your ISP and see what kind of service you have and tell them about your problem. I’d suggest you to let the modem find the available address because I know that modems, if they are well connected, located the address themselves. Besides, static IP addresses are necessary when you have a firm or a business office. Regular people actually don’t need static IP addresses, unless they need a server of some kind. Modem installation and address obtaining can be pretty tricky as you can see. |
