| Hey there! I tried to install XP, the version with service pack 1 on my new laptop, but it failed. I mean , it didn't even start! It was just that blue screen, reporting some error, like some drivers couldn't be loaded or something. Any ideas what I should do? I even started to doubt if everything is OK with my new PC. |

| I don't think you should worry about your new laptop. It seems most probable to me that the OS you are trying to install is just too old for it . It probably has some new hardware or something similar that XP won't recognize. But it doesn't mean, that some other versions of this OS won't do the job. There is something we call |The Last XP" , installation DVD with XP with both service packs, all needed patches, and many programs you can choose from. If you can find it, try it out. If not, you may try installing Vista , I think you will have no trouble installing it. |
