| Hi everyone! I have bought a new Hitachi hard disk drive, and it is already giving me trouble. It is making extremely strange noises, and really annoying me, because it seem to me as if it will crush from an unknown reason. I have had many different HDDs before, but never had such problem. How do I know if it is just loud, or something is not functioning right? |

| Hey there. I do not know if there is something like “loud” hard disk drive…I mean, the kinds of noises they make vary from one type to another, but they are generally not very persistent or annoying. But, the way you are describing it, it seems like a real trouble…and if it really making weird sounds, I think it is the best to try to get professional help with it. It may be a sign of some mechanical problem, and maybe with further usage you would be destroying it even more. You may download some Hitachi diagnostic tests, and see if they will show some errors.But the better idea is to take it to a pro. |
