| Greetings. I have heard that firewall plus Antivirus, both fully updated, are completely enough for any desktop system to operate safely. However, I never saw any complete explanation on the internet so far for any firewall. I would like to configure Sygate or Zone Alarm, I don't know for sure, so I don't need to touch them ever again. Like on Linux. I saw how that works. I hope that Windows is capable for that as well. Thanks in advance. |

| Yes, windows is capable for that, but not every day boxes you see around you. There is some more advanced software technology needed for Windows to function as server. There are services in the desktop workstations, but if you are looking for the linux functionality on NT platform, you won't find that. I mean, you will if you are willing to pay enough. |

| Speaking about software program, not even a system as a matter of fact, we can realize that it is a game comparing it with the system alike Linux. So, think about that as of something that has nothing to do with complexity. Configuring Zone Alarm for example, piece of cake. Just decide where you would like to see you ethernet adapter. Inside internet zone or inside local area. Local area is opened for everything. |

| I agree that regular user should have all settings on their defaults for the Zone Alarm. Once you have been asked for the new network connection found approval, just place it the internet zone, and you're practically done with configuration. Know that Windows Firewall is also running in the background together with the ZAP and no compatibility issues occur. |
