I do not know what to do. The recovery disk for my HP laptop is missing, and I do not know how to install Windows XP. I mean, the only choice I have left is to buy a new license key, but I am not very fond of that, because I already have one valid license. I tried to install Windows XP using the serial key I used with the first installation, but it seems like it is only functioning with recovery disk .Any ideas?

Really? This is the first time I hear about it, I didn’t know that the license key is tied to recovery CD. Anyway, I hope there must be still some way to recover it. Did you try contacting the vendor; maybe they would have some suggestion? I do not have such difficulties  I live in a country when nobody used legalized software but only pirates. I would suggest you to find a crack, but it would be against the law, right? So, either you contact the vendor and try to get yourself that CD, or you buy yourself a new one. Cannot see the other way out of this situation.
