A friend told me I should relocate jumper on my hard disk drive in order to make it function. I think I did it, and I was kind of sure I did it right, but now it is not functioning. What may be causing this problem? Can somebody tell me what could be the problem? Is there something else I could do? Maybe my hard disk is damaged?

I seriously doubt that there is something wrong with your hard disk drive. I guess that you either did not relocate the jumper or you did not change the bios settings. You need to do both, in order to make your device function, if you are connecting it to the motherboard using same IDE cable that already has another device attached. So, of course, one of the steps is to relocate jumpers, if for example you need to make device master or a slave. Another one is to change your BIOS settings and see if they are adequate for the position of the jumpers. It is best to find instructions on the net, and just follow them.
