| No, it is just old model, which became obsolete. If your motherboard really supports socket 478 processors then you have a problem. That standard of processor is abandon. Now, Intel produces 775 processors and they cannot fit on your motherboard. The CPU socket is very different for 478 and 775 type of processors. In addition, there are no adapters that could help you to overcome this problem. Therefore, either you could replace your motherboard together with your processor or you could try to find some used stronger processor on the Internet. If you decide to replace the motherboard be sure to check are all the other components in your computer compatible with your new motherboard. |
