I have a question: is firewall necessary when I use a router? I have ADSL connection and since I know that router is actually part of a large network and that the main computer is behind a firewall I’m wondering whether to turn off that option or not, since there’s no need to have two firewalls. What do you think? Thanks in advance.

I’m not sure but I also thing that when you have a router you’re actually behind a big firewall. Nevertheless I think that you should have your firewall installed, because that firewall doesn’t filter bad sites as far as I know, because you can have access to whatever content on the Internet you want, right? That’s why I think you need protection regardless of that central firewall. You don’t have use any other firewall than that integrated within Windows XP. Just regularly download new patches, and you’re safe. I would also recommend you to install anti-virus software, if you already haven’t. So, it’s better to open ports on your firewall, than to risk infecting your PC with harmful viruses.
