Hello. Linux as the opposite to M$. Many people are on this platform just because there is no money needed for it. At least there is such story circulating around... Are all Linux variants completely free of any charge? If they are, than why are people using commercial operating systems? Thanks so much in advance.

Because of ease of access in the first place. Linux started as server based operating system, and it still is much better on that field. More to add, there are no such intensive gaming titles on Linux as there are on Windows platform. Also, very large number of users are not willing to use anything except their mouse. Linux still requires at least some of the programming skills.
