Greetings. I would like to know is AIFF format file actually audio file format. This file extension sounds so odd, by the way. I am asking because I still didn’t saw any program using this type of file, and I know that I have located it couple of times on the internet, people are discussing about it. Thanks for any answer.

Hello. AIFF is the uncompressed Macintosh audio file. Developed by Apple Computers for storing High-quality sampled sound. This is the default standard for storing audio information on an Apple computer. The same thing as wave is, but not for the same platform. However, it is accepted by PC as well.
