The next beta release of Internet Explorer 8.0 will benefit from two new security features.

Smart Screen, which uses technology present in IE7, is designed to screen for and filter out phishing sites. According to Microsoft, the new function will also detect and warn users if a download has taken place from a site that is known to distribute malware. It is hoped this function will put a stop to users being tricked into launching malicious applications.
