How can I learn more about installation and day to day use of FreeBSD 6.3 RELEASE? I would really like to learn more about this operative system. I have heard it is an unknown giant among systems, similar to Linux but based on Unix. So, I would like to try it out, but I do not think there is any use in trying it out if I do not know a thing about it.

Well, the best thing for you to do is to find the handbook where everything is explained. You can find it on the internet; it is not a problem at all. You have it all explained there –staring from some UNIX basics, reinstallation tasks, starting the installation, as well as installing applications and packages, the X windows system, desktop applications, everyday usage etc. IF you already have some basic knowledge of other operative systems (other than Windows) you will have no special problems in handling it. And if you do not, read it carefully several times before you get into installation. Good luck with it, I think you can manage.
