| There were whole bunch of free Internet programs that were popular in the past years. Some of those were ICQ, MSN, Gmail and Yahoo messenger. However, in the last period, one of them became the most popular software for Internet telephony among the whole Internet society. That software is Skype. First reason for its popularity is the simplicity of its installing. It has a one-click install procedure. Other reason is that using a Skype to call another user, which also has Skype, is free. In addition, if you have at least 512 Kb connections it works great. The only thing, which is paying, is if you use Skype for direct calling of a telephone number, fixed or mobile. However, those charges are also much reduced. |
