Hi there. I would like to return back to normal. I have two 500GB hard drives connected to a mirror raid. I thought that I will have some greater performance with this, but it seems that I don't need this. How do I remove this setup safely without damaging anything? This is configured on nVidia chipset, Asus P5N-E SLI motherboard. Thanks in advance.

Hello. The most safest way to remove the RAID configuration is to enter the RAID setup, boot first. select the only volume and press enter for details. Pressing "d" will delete the current RAID configuration. Exit raid setup afterward. Reboot PC with OS cd, probably XP, and create new master boot record on both drives. After that, create new partitions and reformat them. New installation should flow nicely.
