I got a used xbox 360 the other day, and I was wondering if there was some way of resetting it to factory settings, and removing all the data that is currently on it (form the previous owner), but in a safe way, without deleting or damaging anything important? Thanks in advance,

Isn't this in an FAQ somewhere, or a manual, or something Check, yes it is:
1. Start it without a disc in the tray.
2. In the System section of the Dashboard, select Memory, then go to Storage Devices.
3. In the Storage Devices, select Hard Drive, then press Y to view the Device Options.
4. In the Device Options, select Format. When it asks you do you want to continue, select Yes.
